Bosco Verticale Opens Its Doors in Milan
Hines' Bosco Verticale has opened its door to residents, five years after construction started in Milan’s emerging Porta Nuova district. The project comprises two landscaped towers that contain a total of 1,000 different species of trees, shrubs, and plants.
Aedas Creates Holistic “Palm Tree” Community in Jakarta
Centrally located between Jakarta's city center and the international airport, Ciputra International is a new tower project meant to become a new benchmark for premium development in the city. The open structure of the site, made to resemble a palm frond, allows it to withstand strong winds.
Helsinki Holding High-Rise Design-Build Competition for City Center
The State of Finland and the City of Helsinki are seeking a developer for the area close to the city center by means of a design-build competition. The competition calls for eight to 10 towers of at least 15 stories and the right to build will cover 20,000 to 35,000 square meters of floor space.
Borough Triangle Towers Proposed in South London
A new double high-rise scheme seeks to provide 170 new affordable apartments with a mixture of tenures, ranging from affordable rented apartments to shared ownership aimed at those already living in the Southwark area. The scheme is presently undergoing construction.
Megatall Tower Planned for Bangkok
The $554 million 615-meter Rama IX Super Tower is set for completion by 2019 on 11.7 hectares of land in the Grand Rama 9 mixed-use development site. If completed, the tower would dwarf the tallest building currently in Thailand, the Baiyok II tower, which tops out at 328.4 meters.
New York Superslim 432 Park Avenue Core Reaches 426 Meters
The core of the luxury New York apartment building 432 Park Avenue reached 1,396 feet (426 meters). The condominium tower's height now surpasses that of the Empire State Building (381 meters), and the Chrysler Building (319 meters). Completion is expected in 2015.
