Dubai’s Palm Jumeirah to Get New $1.4 Billion Royal Atlantis
Plans have been unveiled for a $1.4 billion Royal Atlantis Resort and Residences with a design that is set to dominate the Palm Jumeirah skyline. The 800-room hotel will rise to 46 stories and will include 250 luxury residences and retail offerings. The project is scheduled for completion by 2017.
Argentina to Build Latin America’s Tallest Skyscraper
The President of Argentina, Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner, announced on Sept. 10 the awarding of a contract to build the 335-meter “Polo Audiovisual,” which would become the tallest building in Latin America, exceeding the current title-holder, Torre Costanera, Santiago, Chile, by 35 meters.
MoMA Skyscraper in New York City Receives Air Rights
After nearly a decade of planning, developers are ready to begin building an 82-story skyscraper adjacent to the Museum of Modern Art in Midtown Manhattan on West 53rd Street. The tower, originally developed in 2007, will rise 320 meters and comprise 140 high-end condos.
Broadway Malyan to Design $1 Billion Manila Township Project
Broadway Malyan has been named the lead architect of McKinley West - an ultra-high-end township on a 34.5-hectare former JUSMAG (Joint US Military Assistance Group) property in Fort Bonifacio, adjacent to Forbes Park and Manila Polo Club in Manila, Philippines.
Architects Hand Over London’s Leadenhall Building for Fit-Out
The shell of the Leadenhall Building, also known as the Cheesegrater, is now complete and has been handed over to its future tenants for fit-out. With a height of 224 meters, it is best known for its tapered profile that pulls back to respect views of St Paul's Cathedral.
Aedas Releases Images of Heartland 66 Mixed-Use Project in Wuhan
Located on Jinghan Avenue in the bustling Qiaokou District of Wuhan, Heartland 66, designed by Aedas, is a mixed-use development that comprises a world-class shopping mall, a 300-meter Grade-A office tower, serviced apartments, and a series of outdoor terraces.

Alex Balchin, winner of the ISA Architecture-sponsored CTBUH International Student Design Competition, was recognized in Shanghai.
